Afridi went on to say that very few cricketers in Asia take the tough decision of retiring early and ending their career on a high note, but he believes that Virat will announce his retirement in style just like he started his career.

New Delhi: Former Pakistan captain and all-rounder Shahid Afridi came into the trend for his controversial statement about India’s star batter Virat Kohli. Talking about Virat Kohli, Shahid Afridi said on Samaa TV that there was a struggle in Virat’s career initially before he made a name for himself. “He is a champion and I believe there comes a stage when you are headed towards retirement. But in that scenario, the aim should be to go out on a high,” he added. Afridi went on to say that very few cricketers in Asia take the tough decision of retiring early and ending their career on a high note, but he believes that Virat will announce his retirement in style just like he started his career.

The former cricketer also made a statement on Virat being dropped from the team in future and said, “It shouldn’t reach a stage where you are dropped from the team and instead when you are at your peak.”
