New Delhi: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has been tested positive for Coronavirus. The cricketer himself took to Twitter to reveal the information about him contracting the deadly virus.

“I’ve been feeling unwell since Thursday; my body had been aching badly. I’ve been tested and unfortunately I’m covid positive. Need prayers for a speedy recovery, InshaAllah,” Afridi tweeted.

Afridi, 2nd Pak cricketer to get infected with Coronavirus

Shahid Afridi is the third Pakistani cricketer to test positive for COVID-19. Prior to him, Taufeeq Umar was reported Corona positive, however he recovered from the disease after going on 14-day self-isolation at home.

Zafar Sarfraz, the former first-class player, was the first professional player to die due to the deadly virus.

Afridi’s charity work on Covid-19 pandemic

After the Covid-19 outbreak in Pakistan, the Pak cricketer has been doing a lot of charity work through his foundation named ‘Hope Not Out’. His foundation has been garnering food and essential supplies and providing it to the poor and downtrodden.

He even appealed the Indian cricketer for endorsement of his charity work, following which Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan backed his NGO.
