New Delhi: Kieron Pollard became the third player in the history of International cricket to score six consecutive sixes in an over. He achieved this feat in his T20-match against Sri Lanka.
Spinner Akila Dananjaya was on cloud nine after claiming a brilliant hat-trick in the first T20 International (T20I) against West Indies held in Antigua. However, his fortunes turned almost instantly; as the Indies’ captain, Kieron Pollard smashed 6 sixes in six balls in his very next over. In one of the most dramatic U-turns in cricket, Pollard became the second batsman to achieve the feat in International T20s.
While the third in international cricket after Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh. And an interesting fact about these three is that they all have all played for Mumbai Indians in IPL at some time. Gibbs played for Ambani’s team in 2012, while Yuvraj played in 2019 season. Pollard has been playing for the five-time IPL champions for past 11 years and is also the only player to represent the club for more than 150 matches.
