New Delhi: Kieron Pollard became the third player in the history of International cricket to score six consecutive sixes in an over. He achieved this feat in his T20-match against Sri Lanka.

Spinner Akila Dananjaya was on cloud nine after claiming a brilliant hat-trick in the first T20 International (T20I) against West Indies held in Antigua. However, his fortunes turned almost instantly; as the Indies’ captain, Kieron Pollard smashed 6 sixes in six balls in his very next over. In one of the most dramatic U-turns in cricket, Pollard became the second batsman to achieve the feat in International T20s.

While the third in international cricket after Herschelle Gibbs and Yuvraj Singh. And an interesting fact about these three is that they all have all played for Mumbai Indians in IPL at some time. Gibbs played for Ambani’s team in 2012, while Yuvraj played in 2019 season. Pollard has been playing for the five-time IPL champions for past 11 years and is also the only player to represent the club for more than 150 matches.

5) Ravi Shastri, India

On 19th January 1985, Shastri, more commonly known as a defensive player, became the second ever cricketer to hit six sixes in an over. While playing for Bombay against Baroda, he destroyed Tilak Raj for 36 in six balls.

6) Ross Whiteley, England

In July 2017, Whiteley joined the select club after hitting six successive maximums for Worcestershire Rapids against Yorkshire Vikings spinner Karl Carver in a T20 Blast match at Headingley.

7) Hazratullah Zazai, Afghanistan

Zazai comes from less-heralded cricketing climes of the Afghanistan Premier League (T20), where he bludgeoned his way into the history books off the deliveries of the hapless Abdullah Mazari.

8) Leo Carter, New Zealand

While playing in New Zealand’s Super Smash competition, Carter hit six successive sixes which helped him rack up an impressive tally of 70 not out off just 29 balls. His stunning performance inspired Canterbury Kings to a seven-wicket victory with seven balls to spare.
