T20 Blast: Construction workers retrieve the ball after Livingston’s monstrous hit (VIRAL VIDEO)

The ball was found easily and the construction workers’ effort was recognized by the Vitality Blast as they tweeted about the incident.  “Shoutout to the builders who helped retrieve the match ball,” the Vitality Blast tweeted.

New Delhi: Continuing his power-hitting form, Liam Livingston scored 75 off 40 balls to lead Lancashire to a victory in a high-scoring game at T20 Vitality Blast. The English batter smashed five sixes and five fours to post a total of 219/6 against Derbyshire. Earlier in the Indian Premier League, Livingston played for Punjab Kings and put up a great power-hitting show.

He also hit the longest six of IPL 2022, hitting the ball to go 117m away. He scored 427 runs in 14 games at a smashing strike rate of 182.08 for the Kings.

Apart from Livingston’s hard-hitting sixes, the innings witnessed a strange but funny incident. Batting on 21 off 14 balls, the English batter hit the Scottish left-arm spinner, Mark Watt, for a monstrous six over deep mid-wicket. The ball landed on a construction site close to the deep mid-wicket boundary. The construction workers were seen finding the ball at the site.

The ball was found easily and the construction workers’ effort was recognized by the Vitality Blast as they tweeted about the incident.  “Shoutout to the builders who helped retrieve the match ball,” the Vitality Blast tweeted.

Lancashire won by 17 runs as they managed to stop Derbyshire led by Shan Masood at a score of 202/5. Liam Livingston also manged to contribute with the ball by dismissing Harry Came off Phil Salt’s stumping. With their third win in the tournament, Lancashire is leading the North Group with 7 points, while Derbyshire is at fourth position with 4 points.
