New Delhi: India topped the group after beating Zimbabwe and reached the semi-finals while Pakistan beat Bangladesh to book their spot into the semis. The unexpected result from the game between South Africa and the Netherlands paved the way for the men in green who were almost ruled out of the tournament. Both the Asian giants reaching the semi-finals have made the fans excited for another India-Pak encounter.
India will now face England while Pakistan will face New Zealand in the semi-finals. If both teams win their respective games, there will be a clash to remember. After two encounters in the Asia Cup and a nail-biter game with a crowd of 90000+ people in the T20 World Cup, the fans are waiting for another game between the two.
What are the chances?
India playing against England will be an interesting encounter after the men in blue won the T20I series against the Englishmen in July this year. Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav are blasting runs and everyone will want SKY to recall his 117 off 55 in the third T20I. The series also saw Bhuvneshwar Kumar using the conditions to the best. If India needs to win the game, the pacers will need to counter the threat of Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone and Sam Curran. Curran is at his best with the ball currently and he along with Mark Wood will pose some questions for Indian batters.
On the other hand, Pakistan has momentum with three consecutive victories and Shaheen Shah Afridi coming back in form with the Kiwis depending much on Finn Allen and Glenn Phillips, the men in green have a chance to reach finals. If Tim Southee is able to rush back the top order to the dugout, Pakistan would require Shadab Khan’s batting services again.
