New Delhi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is knocking at our doors as it is starting from March 26 with 10 teams playing against each other for the biggest Indian cricket trophy. In the history of IPL, the country saw several emerging players in the cricket world namely Rohit Sharma, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina amongst others.

Interestingly, IPL remains to be the most-lucrative league for players across the nation and world, offering the kind of salaries that no competition in sports can. Let’s check out who has earned the most money in the history of IPL:

1. MS Dhoni: The most consistent player throughout the IPL, the ‘Captain’ MS Dhoni leads the table. His total earnings in the IPL amounts to Rs 1,64,84,00,000 (over Rs. 164 crore) till the 2022 IPL. Dhoni was earning Rs 15 crore in each of the past four seasons at CSK, but this year, he reduced his salary to Rs 12 crore. This is the first time, Dhoni will not be CSK’s highest-earning player.

2. Rohit Sharma: He is considered to be the most successful player in the history of IPL with his earnings amounting to Rs 1,62,60,00,000 (over Rs. 160 crore). Rohit has spent most of his career in Mumbai Indians and this season he will be earning Rs 16 crore. This is the most Rohit has in an IPL season ever.

3. Virat Kohli: The former RCB captain, Virat Kohli’s total earning amounts to Rs 1,58,20,00,000 (over Rs. 150 crore). Kohli has earned Rs 17 crore in each of his past four seasons at RCB. This year, he will be earning Rs 15 crore.

4. Suresh Raina: The veteran player who is not a part of the IPL this season earned Rs 1,10,74,00,00 (Over Rs. 110 crore). For most of his IPL career, Raina played for Chennai Super Kings. His last drawn salary was Rs 11 crore at CSK.

5. AB de Villiers: The South Indian great AB de Villiers did not take part in the IPL auction this season. So far, Villiers has earned a total of Rs 1,02,51,65,000 (over 100 crore). He is not part of the T20 league as last year, he retired from all forms of cricket. His last salary was Rs 11 crore from Royal Challengers Bangalore.
