Tokyo Olympics: Japan’s 13-year-old Momiji Nishiya wins the first-ever gold medal in women’s skateboarding

A day after Yuto Horigome won gold, it’s Nishiya Momiji’s turn to take the top prize.

Japan’s 13-year-old Momiji Nishiya won the women’s street skateboarding event with 15.26 to claim the first female skateboarding gold in the Olympics on Monday. Fellow 13-year-old Rayssa Leal of Brazil grabbed silver with 14.64 and Funa Nakayama of Japan clinched bronze with 14.49.

Gold – Nishiya Momiji, 13-year-old from Japan
Silver – Rayssa Leal, 13-year-old from Brazil
Bronze – Funa Nakayama, 16-year-old from Japan
