New Delhi: Former India Under-19 World up winning captain Unmukt Chand announced quitting the game on Friday. Announcing his retirement from Indian cricket, Chand wrote on Twitter that he was ‘open to taking opportunities around the world.’

The cricketer with exceptional skills said bid adieu to the Indian cricket at a mere age of 28.

“I don’t know how I should be feeling cause honestly I am still figuring it out. The very thought of not being able to represent my country again literally stops my heartbeat for a while”, wrote Unmukt.

Unmukt’s brilliant performance in Junior World Cup 2012 shot him to fame in the cricketing arena. He led the junior team to World Cup victory in 2012.

His heroics in domestic cricket and India A saw him sailing through 30-member squad for ICC Champions Trophy. He got selected for ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and 2014 T World Cup 20.

Chand started his domestic career with Delhi in 2010 and went on to play for Team for 8 seasons. Chand was dropped from the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad in 2017 and became an irregular member of the team after that. In 2019, he started playing for Uttarakhand in 2019 but returned back sometime later.
