Vikram Rathour joins Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL 2025 season as new Batting coach…

Vikram Rathour who was the former batting coach of team India is set to reunite with Rahul Dravid as the new batting coach of Rajasthan Royals.

New Delhi: Ahead of the mega auction, Rajasthan Royals is looking at a massive overhaul of the squad as they look to add quality to their side. Earlier, the Royals had roped in Rahul Dravid as the new head coach of Rajasthan Royals.

The prospect of reuniting with his old friend, Rahul Dravid made Rathour excited about the prospect of joining the Royals. Subsequently, he remarked-

It’s a privilege to be part of the Royals family. The opportunity to work again with Rahul, and now with a talented group of young cricketers, is hugely exciting. I look forward to contributing to the team’s vision and working toward our goal of developing top-class players for the Royals and for India which can help in winning championships….

Rathour played 6 Tests and 7 ODIs for the national team. Subsequently, he returned in the cricketing circles as a mentor nurturing young talents like Rishab Pant, Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer, Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul. Recently, Rathour was part of the Afghanistan contingent that hosted New Zealand for one-off test match.

Rahul excited to work on a new project with old friend…

One of the pivotal points for Rajasthan’s success will be the ability of Rahul Dravid and his coaching manual in the way that he leads his troops. Dravid is coming fresh from his exploits in the Caribbean where he lifted the ICC T20 Trophy as a coach after a long hiatus of many years.

Rathour who was an integral part of Dravid’s system was overjoyed at the prospect of working with Rathour again-

The question remains whether the Rathour-Dravid player finally bring the IPL trophy after a gap of more than a decade.
