New Delhi: As cricket returns to Indian soil after a small gap, the Indian Premier League is set to spice up the cricket calendar with its mega auction. Naturally, all eyes will be on the big franchises as they look to boost up their squads. All the 10 teams are expected to undergo a drastic overhaul in their squads.

But the biggest question that remains going into the auction is the retention rule which is yet to be disclosed by the BCCI. As such, the future of some of the biggest stars of the game like Rohit Sharma and Mahendra Singh Dhoni remain in jeopardy. However, the teams have been given an ultimatum of November 15 to announce the list of retained players.

The time and date as well as the venue will be announced by the BCCI shortly by the end of the month as quoted by the popular website Cricbuzz.

When will the Mega auction take place for IPL 2025?
According to the latest reports, the BCCI is scheduled to host the mega auction for IPL 2025 in the third or fourth weekend of November.

Insider reports have confirmed that like last year, this year also the Mega Auction is once again set to take place overseas and a location in the Middle East is likely. Earlier, during the 2024 IPL auction, the bidding took place for the first time outside India. Now, another Gulf city could be chosen this time around such as Doha or Abu Dhabi.
