Watch: Kevin Pietersen calls out Ambati Rayu “You are a Joker!” post IPL 2024 final

Ambati Rayudu seems to be the new punching bag over the internet after his comments on Virat Kohli found himself in the middle of intense trolling from the fans.

New Delhi: Ambati Rayudu seems to be the new punching bag over the internet after his comments on Virat Kohli found himself in the middle of intense trolling from the fans. The controversy started after KKR’s title win when Rayudu was seen changing his waistcoat.

Rayudu who was seen supporting the Sunrisers Hyderabad was seen flaunting off his orange waistcoat before the start of the match. However, once SRH lost, Rayudu’s waistcoat colour changed and he was not seen wearing the orange one which he was wearing earlier.

How did the netizens react?

Netizens have taken a satirical dig at the entire controversy. Most of the fan pages of RCB have reacted against Rayudu after the latter was found commenting on the orange cap of their superstar Virat Kohli.

The Rayudu-Kohli controversy is not a new experience for the fans as they have seen the same during the 2019 World Cup was the captain and Rayudu was not part of the India team. This incident has flared up things even more between both sides.

Post-match saga between Petersen and Rayudu:

Both Mathew Hayden and Kevin Petersen pulled Rayudu’s leg with friendly banters which transpired into intense media trolling. Petersen was seen saying Ambati Rayudu was a “joker” after the latter was seen commenting on Kohli’s achievement of getting the orange cap.

To calm things down, host Mayanti Langer remarked “Thank you for bringing out the fact that he changed from orange to blue.” Petersen remarked, “I’ve at least held firm….” after flaunting his purple kurta which he wore in the post-match conference.

What happened at the finals?

After losing the toss, SRH dished out a horrendous batting display courtesy of some fiery seam bowling from the pace trio of KKR- Mitchel Starc, Harshit Rana and Vaibhav Arora. Eventually, SRH registered their lowest IPL total of 113 runs.

On the other hand, chasing 114 in an IPL final, the job seemed like a cakewalk for the Knight Riders. KKR eventually chased down the total with 57 balls to spare as Venkatesh Iyer played a blistering knock of 52 off 26 balls to clinch the title for the third time.
