Watch Video: When fans at Wankhede Stadium sang ‘Happy Birthday’ for Sachin

The 49-year-old batsman made his Test debut on November 15, 1989, at the age of 16. In the same year on December 18, he played his first ODI match.

New Delhi: The whole world is celebrating Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar’s 49th birthday on April 24. On his birthday, an old video went viral which saw the whole Wankhede Stadium singing “happy birthday” for Sachin Tendulkar.

The original video was shot some years before at the Wankhede Stadium. The now-viral video spans 12 seconds where Sachin is seen covering his face and then smiling as several cameras were on him to capture his reactions after the whole stadium started singing “happy birthday” for him.

The 49-year-old batsman made his Test debut on November 15, 1989, at the age of 16. In the same year on December 18, he played his first ODI match. 

The Little Master secured the most number of runs in the longest format of the game, amounting to 15,921 runs. Along with it, Tendulkar scored 51 Test centuries, the maximum secured runs attained by any player.

Sachin has created other several records in the ODI format. He tops the list of most runs in ODI, with a total of 8,426 runs, including 49 tons and 96 half-centuries.

The legendary batsman represented India in six World Cups. He was also a part of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad.
