West Indies Vs Sri Lanka: Bee attack halts ODI match, cricketers lie down on ground, VIDEO amuses fans

The last match of the three-match ODI series was also being played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. After winning the toss West Indies decided to bowl first.

New Delhi: During the the third and final ODI match of the series between Sri Lanka and West Indies some strange scenes were witnessed on the cricket field. At one point in the match, all the players lied down on the ground with their heads down in the field, forcing the play to stop. The video of the incident is going viral on social media.

The last match of the three-match ODI series was also being played at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium, Antigua. After winning the toss West Indies decided to bowl first.

What started as a normal cricket match turned ‘beezarre’ in the 38th over of the innings. When Anderson Phillip of the W.Indies came to bowl the first ball of the over, a swarm of bees suddenly hit the ground. To avoid this umpire and all the players laid down with their faces downwards in the ground causing the live match to stop in the middle. The match was stopped for a while and then after some time the match resumed. The video of this incident is now becoming increasingly viral on social media.

The Match

Sri Lanka set a target of 275 runs in front of the Windies while playing first. The target was easily achieved by the Windies due to Darren Bravo’s stunning 102-run century innings. Not only this, after winning this match, the Windies clean sweeped Sri Lanka by winning all the three matches of the three-match ODI series.
Earlier, Windies won the T20 series by 2–1. After which, they also washed Sri Lanka in their home in the ODI series. Next is a two-match Test series between the two countries which will start from March 21.
