What led to legend Shane Warne’s sudden demise? Several theories behind heart attack

New Delhi: The sudden demise of Australian cricket legend sent the entire cricketing fraternity & fans in gloom & despair. His thousands of fans are still in mourning and unable to fathom what led to suspected heart attack. Being a legendary cricketer, Warne lived a very active life & was just 52 when he suffered cardiac arrest while holidaying in Thailand.

Among various theories being discussed over what led to this are his two bouts of Covid and smoking habit.

Warne had contracted Covid-19 virus last year while he was in England. Though, he got infected after doubly vaccinated but the infection drove him to the ventilator.

Himself making revelation on health deterioration, he had said, “It wasn’t because I could not breathe, or anything like that, it was basically a special ventilator that I was trialling to make sure there were no longer-lasting effects that Covid would have on me.”

However, the cricketer caught Covid again, a few months later, however this time it looked more like a flu.

Recent researches have clearly established that Covid takes a toll on cardiovascular health and may continue to impact humans for upto a year of contracting virus.

Studies suggest that those contracted Coronavirus are 72% more likely to suffer from coronary artery disease and 63% are more likely to have a heart attack.

Warne was also a habitual smoker and as doctors suggest this doesn’t do any good to Covid affected person. Reports also say that the leg-spinner was a ‘social butterfly’ and organised poker nights that often lasted till early mornings.
