Who are the best fielders in the Indian team according to T Dilip after the Chennai Test?

Although Virat Kohli was featured in Dilip’s list of fielders, there was no mention of Ravindra Jadeja or Rohit Sharma in the list.

New Delhi: India showcased a phenomenal display of all-round bowling and fielding which helped them win over Bangladesh in the first test in Chennai. There were three centurions in the Indian tally while Ravichandran Ashwin bamboozled the Bangladeshi batsmen to clinch a 6-wicket haul to become the oldest player in the tournament.

Another important side that people often overlooked in the grander scheme of the game was the effort put in the field where India scored a perfect 5/5. Fielding often is the minuscule part of the game but becomes the difference between 2 sides. While India was spot on in the field, Bangladesh was lacklustre on the field. Bangladesh’s poor fielding was criticised by former Bangladeshi batsman Tamim Iqbal and former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri.

The secret for India’s spot on fielding has been T Dilip who has been working with the national team to improve the reflexes of the Indian team.

Dilip’s ‘FAV 4’

After the match, India’s fielding coach T Dilip sat down to analyse the team members’ efforts.  He had four picks for the top spots. Although Virat Kohli was featured in Dilip’s list of fielders, there was no mention of Ravindra Jadeja or Rohit Sharma in the list. Jadeja has been one of the best fielders for India in recent years be it a white ball or red ball.

Naturally, it was a huge shock when Jadeja did not feature on the list. Besides Kohli, Dilip picked Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj and KL Rahul as his 4 best fielders from the 1st Test.
