New Delhi: While the cricket league encounters keep the cricket buffs & fans captivated, an unusual marriage proposal from the field has become a major talking point.
While Sunrisers Eastern Cape was playing against Paarl Royals at the Boland Park Ground in Paarl on Thursday, Kaviya Maran, an IPL team co-owner, received marriage proposal from a cricket fan.
The proposal, when flashed on the big screen in the stadium, drew attention of full audience and the video clip is circulating widely on social media.
In the Video clip, a South African fan can be seen flashing his placard, with a message & wish to marry IPL franchise co-owner Kaviya Maran.
The fan held the placard with a message and heart emoji on in. The placard read, “Kavya Maran, WILL YOU MARRY ME?”

Why was she dubbed as Mystery girl?
Kaviya Maran earned the sobriquet of Mystery girl during the IPL matches. She was often seen cheering for her team SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL encounters and owing to her glam quotient & frequent sightings apparently, she was dubbed the mystery girl.
The cameras also focused on her whenever she was present in stands, thereby drawing cheers from the crowd.
How is Kaviya Maran connected to Karunanidhi?
Kaviya Maran comes from an elite & high-profile family of Tamil Nadu. She is the grand-nephew of former TN CM M Karunanidhi. She is also the niece of Dayanidhi Maran, an MP from Central Chennai.
She shot to limelight first, after being spotted in the stadium cheering for SunRisers Hyderabad pitted against Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018 season.
