Born on 31st January 1997, he made his international debut in 2021. Ruturaj hails from Pune, Maharashtra. His father works for DRDO( Defence Research Development Organization) and mother was a teacher in a Municipal School. As a child he was never forced by his parents to study more and play less. Ruturaj joined the Vengsarkar Academy when he was 13 years old. He made his debut for Maharashtra in 2016-2017 Ranji Trophy. He made his 20-20 debut for Maharashtra in Inter State 20-20 tournament in 2017. He was named in India's One day International in 2021. He made his T20on 28th July 2021 for India against Srilanka. After seeing his spectacular performances, he was retained by Chennai Super Kings for 6 crores ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. He got married to his long time girlfriend in 2023.
