Yash Dhull wins hearts by hitting 100 in his Ranji Trophy debut; wishes pour in on social media

Delhi batter Yash Dhull on Thursday registered a century on his first-class debut in the ongoing Ranji Trophy in Guwahati against Tamil Nadu.

New Delhi: Yash Dhull won the hearts of cricket fans by hitting a century on his Ranji Trophy debut match in Guwahati against Tamil Nadu. He scored his first ton at the Baraspara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Thursday.

Dhull accumulated 100 runs by hitting 133 balls. It is believed that this will give him a boost to the career of the 18-year-old cricketer.

This makes Dhull the second Indian U-19 captain who hit a hundred on his Ranji Trophy debut. Earlier, the record was in the name of Prithvi Shaw who smashed a hundred in 2016.

However, Dhull scored 113 off 150 balls before returning back to the pavilion in the 50th over.

On his achievement, a congratulatory message was also shared by BCCI on Twitter.

”Yush Dull — India’s U19CWC-winning captain -begins his RanjiTrophy journey in style,” read the tweet of BCCI.

It is reported that Yash was apparently feeling very calm during the match. He successfully used the mistakes of Tamil Nadu bowlers to accumulate runs on every single delivery.

Yush Dhull’s achievement has also drawn reactions from many social media fans.

Earlier, Dhull got fame by leading India in the U-19 World Cup. In his leadership, India won the World Cup against England in the final in West Indies. Before the final, Australia hit a hundred in the semi-final against Australia.

Following the success in U-19, one of the Indian Premier League teams Delhi Capital (DC) Yush Dhull purchased Yash Dhull on the promise of Rs 50 lakhs.

Notably, Ranji Trophy has started the gape of two years. This year, the tournament will be played in two phases. The first phase will be completed by March 15.

The second phase will be started after the completion of IPL 2022.
