Arun Jaitley passed away in New Delhi at the AIIMS hospital on August 24. He was 66.

Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley passed away in quick succession in August 2019, in a span of 18 days, leaving a void in the party that may be difficult to fill for a long time to come.

The nuclear test was conducted in May, 1998 in Pokhran during the Vajpayee government. After India acquired the nuclear power, it adopted a nuclear a doctrine which declared a 'no first use' (NFU) policy which means the country will not to use its nuclear weapon as a means of warfare unless attacked by an adversary using nuclear weapons.

Vajpayee, who led the National Democratic Alliance government from 1998-2004, was the first-ever leader from the BJP to have become the nation’s Prime Minister. Vajpayee served as Prime Minister thrice — briefly in 1996, and then for two terms between 1998 and 2004.

Stating that providing a responsive administration to the people, especially to the most vulnerable sections of the society was central to Vajpayee Ji's administration, Naidu added, "He implemented the reform agenda and delivered good governance to the nation amidst great challenges".
