BCCI released the list of centrally contracted players for the period from October 2019 to September 2020. With Dhoni not featuring in the list, his future ahead will come under severe speculation.
The contracts, from October 2019 to September 2020, are in four categories - A+ (Rs 7 crore), A (Rs 5 crore), B (Rs 3 crore) and C (Rs 1 crore). As many as 27 players have been divided into these four categories, with skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah being the three in the A+ category.
The BCCI has announced the annual player contracts for the season 2018-19. The cricket body has retained just three players in A+ category. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah are the three A+ category players, with Rs 7 crore each per annum.
