Manmohan Singh has been admitted to the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Trauma Centre in Delhi after testing positive for COVID-19 on Monday.
"Oxygen production being maximised and diverted from industrial use to medical use, expediting installation of 162 PSA plants across the country, and 24*7 coordination cell assisting the states," he added.
"PPE KITS, N95 masks, labs for adequate testing, testing kits and now vaccination, all these things we have prepared in a year. Doctors have prepared a strategy to fight against COVID. We are now assessing what other things we can strengthen in advance," he said.
In a press release, Dr Vardhan said that even as the the country was witnessing a fresh wave of rising infections, he was “alarmed” to note the fact that many state governments had “failed to take appropriate response measures.
“Just like horoscopes are matched before marriage, blood screening reports of bride and groom should also be matched,” Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said in Lok Sabha.
Delhi recorded as many as 321 fresh Covid-19 cases and one related fatality in the last 24 hours and it is the second consecutive day when the city witnessed more than 300 new cases.
Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan who was part of the event said Ayurveda has Rs 30,000 crore economy in India.
"We will be in a situation to administer vaccines to those above 50 years of age in March. Eighty to eighty-five per cent of frontline workers have been vaccinated so far in the country," Dr Harsh Vardhan said.
The Health and Family Welfare Ministry said that more than 33,000 people have been inoculated in the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 recovery rate reached 96.83% with the total recovery of more than 13,000 patients in past 24 hours.
Dr Harsh Vardhan-Tewari verbal duel broke out over 23 deaths in Norway a short time after receiving their first dose of the vaccine. According to the Norwegian Medicines Agency, 13 people had died after taking vaccine suggesting that side effects may have led to severe reactions in frail, elderly people.
