"75 lakh Bihar residents are affected by floods. 40 lakh migrant workers are forced to sit hungry at their homes without work. But, 15-year old 'Sushaniya Sarkar' (in reference to Nitish Kumar government) is in deep slumber," Yadav tweeted.
Dhubri, Goalpara and Barpeta are among the worst affected areas. 1.17 lakh hectares of cropped areas are also under water. Relief and rescue works are being carried out by SDRF and NDRF teams.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 21 rescue teams in Bihar.
The NDRF has deployed 19 teams in 14 districts of Bihar and has evacuated more than 4,000 people including women, patients, children and elderly and shifted them to the safer places.
The heavy downpour has also disrupted the rail traffic in the region. At least ten trains were cancelled today morning. Delays were reported on several routes.
