The Meteorological Department (MeT) says moist winds are going to be here in few days. These winds will rise from Bay of Bengal and reach the capital soon. Anyway, after mid-July, Delhi always experiences heavy rainfall. Now it is expected that Delhi will receive strong and frequent rainfall by July 20.

At least 27 people have died in rain-related incidents in Mumbai as heavy rains lashed parts of the city. In Malad East, a wall collapsed on hutments leaving 21 people dead.

Local train and flight operations, however, continue to run smoothly. "There was only one diversion around 9 in the morning," Mumbai International Airport Limited spokesperson was quoted as saying by news agency ANI after reports of low visibility.
