Amar Singh tried his hand at floating his own party and formed Rashtriya Lok Manch, in 2011. The party contested the 2012 assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh but drew a blank.
Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday reported 2,151 new COVID-19 cases and 37 deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the active cases to 20,204 and death toll to 1,229, said the State Health Department.

Announcing compensation for the kin of deceased, Akhilesh urged the BJP to give an amount of Rs 10 lakh compensation to kin of each deceased.

NPR snowballed into conspiracy after Opposition parties alleged that NPR is the first step towards the creation of the National Register Citizens (NRIC). However, Union Home Minister Amit Shah denied any link between the two exercises.
