Among stocks, index heavyweight Reliance Industries slipped by 2.08 per cent to trade at Rs 1,565.80 per share. The others in negative zone included Coal India, Nestle India, HDFC Bank and Adani Ports.
Among stocks, Zee Entertainment gained by 5.9 per, Bharti Infratel by 5.3 per cent and IndusInd Bank by 3 per cent. Metal companies like Tata Steel, JSW Steel and Hindalco added some gains. ITC, Tech Mahindra, Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Finserv too were in the green.
Yes Bank has requested the authorities to form a multi-disciplinary team of experts for detecting the origin of the fake news and assess the short-sell positions, held either directly or indirectly by such accused persons.
Tata Steel and JSW Steel were down by 2.4 per cent and 2.2 per cent respectively. Zee Entertainment, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies also lost between 1.7 per cent and 2.8 per cent each.
The other prominent losers were Bajaj Finserv, Vedanta, Adani Ports and JSW Steel which lost over 2 per cent each. Hindalco, Zee Entertainment, IndusInd Bank and Bajaj Finance too were in the red.
