PM Modi has appreciated the hard-work done by the bank staff, saying that “There was a time when street vendors did not go inside the bank but today the bank is going to their home.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with SVANidhi beneficiaries from Uttar Pradesh via video conferencing today and said that the street vendors are now becoming 'Aatmanirbhar' by the help of this scheme.
Under the SVAnidhi scheme around 7 lakh street vendors have been identified in the state and more than 6 lakh 40 thousand have applied for loan . State government has approved loan of around 3.62 lakh vendors out of which around 3 lakh vendors are getting the money today.
PM SVANidhi scheme was launched on 1st of June this year to help poor street vendors, impacted by COVID-19, resume livelihood activities.
