The leakage of benzimidazole gas occurred at Sainor Life Sciences Pvt Ltd in Visakhapatnam on Monday night. Uday Kumar, Inspector, Parwada Police Station said that the situation is under control now.
He further said that 10 more fire tenders, including 2 foam tenders, are currently present at the spot and ambulances are ready for any emergency.
The death toll in Visakhapatnam gas leak rose to 10 by Thursday afternoon, according to SN Pradhan, Director General of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF).
Around 800 people have been admitted to the hospital and ten have lost their lives after a styrene gas leak in RR Venkatapuram village.
Pradhan informed that the NDRF team which is specialised in chemical, biological, radiological disaster is in the fifth battalion from Pune and it is being flown from Pune to reach the site.
