Apple comes out with big ‘reveal’ that it’s AI will not be available in Europe due to…

The Cupertino-based company has declared that there will be more delay in the launching of the three new AI Features.

New Delhi: In shocking news for all Apple users in Europe, the Cupertino-based company has declared that there will be more delay in the launching of the three new AI Features. This news comes after Apple decided to go ahead with the Open AI integration within its chipset ahead of the iOS 18 launch.

Apple’s AI push comes against the backdrop of dwindling sales in the international market. Earlier, NVIDIA overtook Apple to become the second-most valued company in the world. Apple Intelligence aka Apple’s own AI will be available for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPad and Mac with M1 chipsets.

Why the late delay?

Now, the question is why an unnecessary delay in the release of the AI features for the European market. According to the company, the EU’s Digital Markets Act or DMA is the bone of contention over here. DMA is a new set of rules that are applied in Europe to keep big market players become monopolistic on European soils. DMAs blockade means that three features namely Phone mirroring, SharePlay Screen Sharing enhancements and Apple Intelligence will not be rolled out in the European markets.

The company made the ‘big reveal’ in a mail which read, “Specifically, we are concerned that the interoperability requirements of the DMA could force us to compromise the integrity of our products in ways that risk user privacy and data security.” Furthermore, Apple has confirmed that they are looking to work for a middle-ground with the EU to roll out the new features as soon as possible.

Apple is worried that the regulatory issues might put the European users at the risk of ‘privacy’ issues. Moreover, with new updates rolling out in other parts of the world, will the strict regulatory issues put European users on the back foot as the technology race gains pace?
