New Delhi: Game developer Krafton has announced that the pre-registration for upcoming game ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India’ will begin on May 18. The company has also announced the game will be available for pre-registration only on Google Play Store. The much awaited game was announced by Krafton earlier this month.
The company has also announced that the pre-registered users will get special rewards at the time of launch.
Battlegrounds Mobile India is an Indian=specific version of the globally popular ‘PlayerUnderknown’s Battlegrounds’ (PUBG). Indian govt. had banned the PUBG along with 117 other apps in September 2020, on the grounds that they posed a threat to national security as they were all made by Chinese tech firms.
The company at the time of announcement had said, “BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA, a battle royale experience, will have a period of pre-registration before the launch. The game will be available to play only in India. KRAFTON will collaborate with partners to build an esports ecosystem while bringing in-game content regularly, starting with a series of India specific in-game events at launch, to be announced later.”
