Check out ZTE Axon 20 5G, world’s first smartphone with under-display camera

New Delhi: ZTE has created a lot of buzz with its upcoming smartphone Axon 20 5G which comes with an under-display camera. It is not like the conventional workarounds such as the notch or the punch-hole that we have been overtreated with on several smartphones. Ahead of the official launch on September 1, new and more details about ZTE Axon 20 5G have surfaced online.

ZTE Axon 20 5G teaser mock those workarounds in the lamest way, unjustifiably so because the company itself launched several smartphones with notches and punch-holes on the display. The mechanism on which the under-display camera will work is quite technical — Oppo explained it the last time but ZTE may have a different setup altogether. We are not sure what process ZTE has employed for the under-display camera on Axon 20 5G to capture photos. Even if the process gets clear soon, I am highly doubtful about the image quality from the camera, simply because the technology is nascent.

ZTE Axon 20 5G will be available in at least three colour options. The official teasers reveal pink, gold, and light blue colours apart from a black model we saw in older teasers. The official render also confirms a rectangular camera module on the top left corner. According to reports, ZTE Axon 20 5G will come with a 64-megapixel primary rear sensor.

The phone is said to come with a large 6.92-inch display with full HD+ resolution. The screen will have an AMOLED panel. Apart from the front-facing camera, ZTE Axon 5G will also have a fingerprint sensor embedded on the screen.

For performance, ZTE Axon 20 5G will run on a 2.4GHz octa-core processor coupled with up to 12GB RAM and up to 256GB built-in storage. The processor is likely to be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G chip. A 4,020mAh battery will power the phone.
