New Delhi: Aarogya Setu, the APP developed to track and trace COVID19 situation in the country has recorded 15 crore downloads till date.
Due to its huge support from the people, AROGYA SETU has become the most downloaded Covid-19 contact tracing app across the world. The government-promoted app has managed to achieve the feat in above three months from launch.
A Sensor Tower report shows Aarogya Setu has the most installs to date followed by Turkey’s Pandemic Isolation Tracking Project and Germany’s Corona-Warn-App.
The download numbers comprise figures from Google Play Store and the App Store.
About Arogya Setu App
The government of India launched this app to combat the menace of Coronavirus. Called Aarogya Setu, the coronavirus tracking app warns users if they have crossed paths with any infected people recently. The app has been developed by the central government and NIC eGov Mobile Apps. The app is available on both iOS and Android can be downloaded via respective app stores.
This is pretty similar to how Google Maps detects whether there is a traffic jam in some area based on location data.
