Google Doodle celebrates beginning of ICC Women’s World Cup 2022

All matches of the CWC will be covered live by broadcast partners around the world. DRS will be available at all matches

New Delhi: The 12th edition of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup and the third one, after 1982 and 2000, held in New Zealand went underway on March 4, on Friday. The tournament will be played from March 4 to April 3 in six different cities – Auckland, Christchurch, Dunedin, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Wellington.

Eight teams – Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and West Indies – will lock horns in a 31-match tournament with the final in Christchurch on April 3.

The celebrate the much-awaited beginning, Google created a special doodle for the playing ladies.

The Google Doodle shows an illustration of six female cricketers playing cricket in the backdrop of audiences in the stadium. To view the doodle, you will have to visit the homepage of the search engine Google and search for the Women’s Cricket World Cup.

Thereafter, you will be able to see cricket balls moving from left to right on your screen.

To view the doodle again, you can always click on the confetti popper at the bottom of the page.

Meanwhile, all matches of the CWC will be covered live by broadcast partners around the world.

The Decision Review System (DRS) will be available at all matches.
