PlayStation 5 launched in India: SONY faces shortage of supply; here is all you need to know
After a few months' delay, Sony's next-gen gaming console, PlayStation 5 went on sale in India on February 2, 2021.
New Delhi: The recently launched Sony’s next-generation PlayStation 5 is officially available for purchase in India. It went on sale on Sony center, Amazon, Croma stores, Vijay sales, Flipkart, Gameloot store and Games the Shop on Feb 2. The demands were sky high as the console release was most awaited by the consumers.
The console sold out within few minutes without any confirmation on the re-stocking. The pre-booked consoles will be sent to the consumers as soon as the supply will be back.
Meanwhile, E bay and few other stores are selling PS5 at a higher price. The PlayStation is huge competitor to the New Xbox series X/S console.
PlayStation 5 Versions, pricing and accessories
PlayStation 5 is available in two versions, the standard edition PS5 is priced at Rs 49,990, whereas the digital edition of PS5 is priced at 39,990 (without disc drive). There is no difference in any performance except in standard edition of PS5 Blu-ray disc, old PS4 Blu-ray disc and regular Blu-rays are compatible.
Sony also released their new DualSense Controller priced at Rs5,990, Media Remote at Rs 2,590, Pulse 3d Wireless Headset at Rs 8,590, HD Camera at Rs 5,190 and with a very new DualSense Charging Station for charging the DualSense controller at Rs 2,590.
Specifications
The sleek design with black and white theme console comes with two USB type A and USB type C with customized eight-core AMD Zen 2 with 3.5 GHz frequency and AMD RDNA2 based GPU, coming with 16GB GDDR6 RAM and 825GB SSD making the PS5 superfast with killing the in game load screen. The console is thicker than the predecessor despite the size it’s silent without making weird noises. Even the user interface is totally improved focusing on the players and next- gen experience.
