PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite will no longer work for gamers in India from today

Two months after India banned PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite games over security concerns, developer PUBG Corp. has announced, in a Facebook post, that it is shutting down the India servers for the games on October 30.

New Delhi: PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite will no longer work for gamers in India, starting from today, October 30. The company announced the development in a post on Facebook published.

The gaming app was banned by the Indian government in the second wave of the Chinese app ban over national security concerns. Along with PUBG, 117 other apps were banned in India.

Announcing the termination of services on Facebook, PUBG Mobile wrote, “Dear Fans, To comply with the interim order of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology dated September 2, 2020, Tencent Games will terminate all service and access for users in India to PUBG MOBILE Nordic Map: Livik and PUBG MOBILE Lite (together, “PUBG Mobile”) on October 30, 2020. The rights to publish PUBG MOBILE in India will be returned to the owner of the PUBG intellectual property.”
