PUBG Mobile returns as Battlegrounds Mobile India: When and where to do pre-registration

New Delhi: Last week game developer Krafton announced the official comeback of PUBG to India with a new name – Battlegrounds Mobile India. The new game will have a battle royale experience just like its predecessor. The company also announced that there will be a period of pre-registration before the launch. Krafton said that they will collaborate with partners to build an e-sports ecosystem in the country while bringing new in-game content regularly which will start with some India-specific events.

Pre-Registration

As per the recent reports, the game developer Krafton is expected to launch the game in June, although no official date has been announced yet. The reports also suggest that if the game launches in June then the pre-registration will start a week or so before the launch date.

Earlier, PUBG Mobile India was available on both platforms – Android and iOS. So, if the company follows the trend, Battlegrounds Mobile India will also be launched on both platforms. The pre-registration is expected for both Android and iOS users.

According to the statement of Krafton, the game will offer a world-class multiplayer gaming experience on mobile and will be launched as a free-to-play experience on smartphones. Battlegrounds Mobile India will release with its own e-sports ecosystem which includes exclusive in-game events, outfits and features like India-specific tournaments and leagues.

Stricter Parental Control

The company says m “When you play our game we do not knowingly collect, use or share any personal information for those who are under 18 years of age without verifiable parental consent or as permitted by law, the company said. If you are under 18 years of age, you will be asked to provide the mobile phone number of your parent or guardian to confirm that you are legally eligible to play the game.”

They further said, “If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child with under 18 years of age has provided us with personal information without your consent, you can contact us and request your child’s information to be deleted from our system.”

Ban

Last year on September 2, the Indian government had announced the ban on 118 apps which pose a threat to national security. The list included the immensely popular PlayerUnknown`s Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile and was banned under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.

PUBG has more than 600 million downloads and 50 million active players globally, it had nearly 33 million users in India at the time of ban.
