New Delhi: Jio’s second laptop model, the much-awaited JioBook (2023), debuted in India on July 31. The Reliance JioBook 2023 is an updated version of last year’s model, but it retains its affordable, mass-market focus. The laptop’s new, more streamlined appearance belies its continued use of the JioOS operating system. The 4G LTE connectivity on this laptop means that you may stay online wherever you go.

A MediaTek MT 8788 octa-core CPU fuels the new laptop’s performance. The plastic body of the JioBook 4G is coloured JioBlue, and it includes a Jio SIM card. Reliance is advertising the laptop by highlighting its portability. 990 grammes is scarcely noticeable. The lightweight construction also usually indicates a small footprint. The HD screen is small and anti-glare, measuring in at only 11. The screen still got some very hefty bezels.
The JioBook may run on custom software, but it nevertheless responds to the usual trackpad motions. The keyboard supports more than 75 different movements. The keys on its infinity keyboard extend to the laptop’s edges. This layout was probably enacted to maximise the accessible area without reducing the size of the keys.

A 5,000mAh battery powers the JioBook 2023, which the company says may last for up to 8 hours between charges. The latest Jio notebook has an octa-core CPU and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. It comes with 64GB of storage space, with extendable support for cards up to 256GB in size.

The Reliance JioBook has been differentiated from other Reliance Jio products as a retail device sold by the company itself. It will not be sold at the Jio online shop. The Indian pricing for a JioBook 2023 is now fixed at Rs. 16,499. The laptop is only available in Blue, and it may be pre-ordered via Amazon, Reliance Digital’s online shop, and other major retailers. The on- and offline sales for Amazon and Reliance Digital will commence on August 5.
