New Delhi: The billionaire owner of Twitter announced his plans to alter the blue bird logo to the letter X in a series of tweets sent on Sunday, July 23, 2023. The logo change is expected to take effect globally on Monday, July 24, 2023. He declared that links to x.com will henceforth be the same as and sent directly to twitter.com. “And soon we shall bid adieu to the Twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds. If a good enough X logo is posted tonight, we’ll make go live worldwide tomorrow”, Musk tweeted.

Musk sent a number of tweets stating that X would go live as soon as it is feasible, and he also added that he is not sure what subtle signals gave it way, but he did mention that he likes the letter X.

Netizens started reacting and retweeting all over Twitter. One user said, “If X is the App for everything, the logo should include the infinite symbol ?” while another user said, “It’s the unknown variable. X marks the spot. There’s no other letter in the English alphabet that’s cooler than X. ⚔️”

Some users created memes out of the announcement, like one user said, “Everyone saying goodbye to Twitter Bird & waiting for Twitter X be like”

Some users supported Musk saying that they also like the alphabet ‘X.’

As part of his aim to build a super app in the vein of China’s WeChat, Musk rebranded Twitter as X Corp in October 2022, a turbulent time in the company’s history.
