WhatsApp Chatbot: Talk to META’s AI via this new specialized button, now available for beta users

WhatsApp also introduced a new privacy-enhancing feature for its users called Protect IP Address in Calls. The feature will eliminate the need to disclose IP addresses while using the call feature on the messenger

New Delhi: Zuckerberg’s META is all set to roll out a dedicated button for its new Artificial intelligence (AI) in the popular instant messaging app WhatsApp.

While the new feature is still under development, the tech giant has already introduced it with limited capabilities in the latest beta version of WhatsApp, which now includes a specific button for getting easy access to its features.

As highlighted in a recently shared WABata Info report, the button to access the new chatbot will show right above the “new chat” which is used for starting a new conversation within the Chats Tab. The button will allow its users to conveniently open AI-powered chats with accuracy and speed.

META’s Chatbot for WhatsApp

META’s founder Mark Zuckerberg introduced this AI-powered chatbot back in September while saying that his company is developing various AI-based chatbots for a specific subdevide in the United States of America.

During the Chatbot’s initial days after September’s Bata release, it was kept limited within the contact list, and the same made it hard for its users to find it and use it for initiating conversations with AI.

Now, to fix this issue and give their customers a better user experience, META, in the latest WhatsApp beta version for Android 2.23.24.26, has added the option to access the bot directly from the home screen by incorporating a button for easy access.

They have placed the button right next to the New Chat Tab. Clicking on the button, which is a white square with a colorful ring, will activate META’s AI Chatbot. It is important to mention here that as of now,  these chatbots are still under development and are only offering limited experimental features to some users exclusively in the messenger’s Beta version.

Reports also have it that the introduction of this Chatbot in WhatApp beta does not suggest that it will be added to the messenger’s global version. Therefore, it is hard to predict when will META make this new feature available for regular users of WhatsApp as of now.

Call without disclosing IP address on WhatsApp

Meanwhile, META’s WhatsApp also introduced a new privacy-enhancing feature for its users called Protect IP Address in Calls. The feature will eliminate the need to disclose IP addresses while using the call feature on the messenger by doing away with the individual call’s reliance on P2P connections. Instead, it will allow users to place  WhatsApp calls through the medium of a server and the same will keep one’s IP address hidden from the other parties.

Interestingly, the group calls on WhatsApp have already been using this server-based system for a long time and now, the same has been made available for normal calls as well.
