WhatsApp’s upcoming feature will allow you to leave groups discreetly; Details inside

Currently, when you exit a WhatsApp group, it notifies in the chat window that reads “XXX left.”

New Delhi: WhatsApp groups can be annoying at times with the endless notifications and messages coming in. This occurs because most people post random stuff to keep the group alive. Also, the conversations most of the time do not make sense to you when you’re added to a group against your will and people’s participation in those senseless talks make you feel like leaving the group as soon as possible.

However, we fail to exit those groups thinking that it would hurt relatives and friends who made the group especially to stay connected. Thus, leaving the group seems to be a little hard. However, it won’t be as hard as now in the near future as WhatsApp is working on a feature that will let users leave the group silently.

Currently, when you exit a WhatsApp group, it notifies in the chat window that reads “XXX left.” This method let everyone know that a member has left the group. The upcoming feature will make things more secretive. According to Wabetainfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature that will enable the users to leave the group discreetly.

Wabetainfo has shared a screenshot of the feature that was spotted on the beta version of the messaging app. The screenshots showed that when a user will be leaving a group, only he/she or the group admin will be notified.

“This information will only show up to group admins in the future. Group admins should always be notified about what happens in their groups, so it is needed to show them who exited a group. Note that even if the screenshot is taken from WhatsApp Desktop beta, the feature will surely be released on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS in the future,” WhatsApp wrote.

The feature is currently under development on WhatsApp Desktop beta at the moment and it is planned to be available to users in a future update.
