New Delhi: Authorities in the north Indian state of Uttar Pradesh destroyed a young Muslim activist’s home, claiming it was a “act of vendetta” by the government in response to demonstrations over comments made about Prophet Muhammad by leaders of the country’s right-wing ruling party. Authorities in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj city brought in earthmovers to demolish Afreen Fatima’s house, surrounded by a big posse of police in riot gear, as hundreds of media personnel documented the demolition.
