Jagannath Rath Yatra 2022 has started, and thousands of pilgrims have descended upon Puri, Odisha

As lakhs of devotees from all over the nation flocked to see the holy chariots and seek the blessings of the almighty, strict security measures have been put in place for the Jagannath Rath Yatra in Odisha’s Puri. 

New Delhi: The 145th Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra officially began today in Odisha’s Puri after a two-year hiatus, with lakhs of worshippers taking part in the Jagannath Rath Yatra festivities. Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath’s annual Rath Yatra is currently underway with widespread public participation and will end on July 9 of next week. As people are now permitted to attend the festival after a two-year hiatus, “we anticipate a sizable turnout of about 10 lakhs on Ratha Yatra,” Development Commissioner P.K. Jena said.
