New Delhi: Nupur Sharma, a BJP spokesperson, said on Friday that she has been threatened with death and rape after a fact-checker shared a video of her inflammatory remarks on Islam’s founder, Prophet Muhammad. Sharma said that Mohammed Zubair, the co-founder of the fact-checking website Alt News, released a “heavily manipulated video” from one of her discussions, and that Zubair will be “wholly & solely” accountable “if anything untoward occurs to me or any of my family members.” She also said that “A so-called fact-checker has begun to poison the atmosphere by releasing a heavily edited and selected footage from one of my debates from last night. Since then, I’ve been receiving murder and rape threats, as well as threats to behead me and my family members. ”
