New Delhi: On April 30, 2022, the first partial solar eclipse of the year, known as Surya Grahan, will occur. On May 16, 15 days after the first Solar Eclipse, the first Lunar Eclipse of the year will occur. The solar eclipse of 2022 will occur during the highly unusual ‘Black Moon,’ when the moon appears black during the new moon night. Except during a solar eclipse, when the moon is visible to us on Earth, a new moon occurs. As per NASA, throughout the day this year, the Black Moon will block out the sun shortly before and at sunset, bringing in a partial solar eclipse.
