New Delhi: Sonali Phogat, 42, who died on Monday night of a heart attack in Goa, rose to stardom as a Tik Toker, actor, and Big Boss contender before beginning her career as an anchor on Hisar Doordsarshan. She was accustomed to conflict. Sonali was born in Bhuthan, a tiny town near Hisar, on September 21, 1979. Sonali has a brother, three sisters, and a father who is a farmer. After completing her education at Pioneer Convent School in Fatehabad, Haryana, Sonali went on to earn an arts degree from Maharshi Dayanand University. After working as a Hisar Doordarshan anchor for two years, she joined the BJP’s national working committee, where she was named national vice-president of the party’s Mahila Morcha. She then started her professional career. A few years later, Phogat stopped anchoring and began acting. Sanjay Phogat was discovered dead inexplicably close to his property in the Hisar district in 2016 while she was in Mumbai pursuing her acting career.
