New Delhi: Gangster turned politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead while UP Police were taking them for a medical test. UP government has instructed a probe and Section 144 of CrPC has been imposed. The three accused in the killing are reportedly not from Prayagraj and are history sheeters. The accused revealed in police questioning that they committed the crime for popularity. Accused Luvlesh Tiwari is from Banda, Arun Morey is from Hamirpur and Sunny hails from Kasganj. The police are investigating their vehicle and how they disguised themselves as journalists.
