New Delhi: As India battles the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic, a WhatsApp message has gone viral saying that all those people who got vaccinated with Corona vaccine will die in 2 years.
This message spread like wildfire and was frantically shared on various social media platforms. However, there is not an iota of truth in this fake viral claim and is nothing more than a hoax.
Fake Whatsapp message circulating in groups
As the WhatsApp message carries an alleged statement on ‘death within 2 years’ by Nobel Laureate Luc Montagnier, it has sent people panicking.
The message attributes multiples quotes to him and shares a link to an article by lifesitenews.com to back the claim. Additionally, a link to Montagnier’s Wikipedia page is also shared.
Busting the Fake News
PIB fact check has confirmed that this claim is absolutely fake and that the vaccine is completely safe.
Taking to Twitter, PIB wrote, “An image allegedly quoting a French Nobel Laureate on COVID-19 vaccines is circulating on social media. The claim in the image is FAKE. COVID-19 Vaccine is completely safe. Do not forward this image #PIBFactCheck.”

Assam police also posted an alert on Facebook about the misleading WhatsApp message.
