Morphed image of PM Modi bowing to Nita Ambani is viral, details here

Upon investigation, we found that this photo of PM Modi-Nita Ambani is morphed. This photo is actually from 2018 and shows PM Modi greeting a social worker, Deepika Mondol who was visiting the Rashtrapati Bhawan for an event.

New Delhi: An image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi bowing to Nita Ambani, chairperson of Reliance Foundation and wife of India’s richest person Mukesh Ambani is going viral on the internet.

The photo has shared by former Prasad Bharati CEO Jawhar Sircar with the caption, “Wish fellow parliamentarians and others in politics also received such courtesy and bonhomie — from their permanently-scowling PM. In a mature democracy, we would know the two-way relationship, favours, transactions. Some day, history will tell us.”

The photo has found strong traction and is being widely circulated as it gives political rivals ample opportunity to slam the Modi dispensation by accusing it of bowing down to super-rich industrialists.

Fact-Checking the fake image

However, upon investigation, we found that this photo of PM Modi-Nita Ambani is morphed. This photo is actually from 2018 and shows PM Modi greeting a social worker, Deepika Mondol who was visiting the Rashtrapati Bhawan for an event.

A reverse image search shows the story appearing in Amar Ujala, a Hindi news daily on April 12, 2018, which identified the woman as Deepkia Mondal, a social worker who runs a NGO called Divyajyoti Culture Organisation and Welfare Society.

Last year also, this photo was doctored using Priti Adani, wife of industrialist Guatam Adani in the photo and shared with fake claim.

Netizens furious with fake agenda, propaganda

It may have provided political fodder to rivals but those aware of such agenda and propaganda to target Modi govt are tearing apart former Prasar Bharti CEO’s fake photo claim.
