I’m reeling from the news of the death of my friend and colleague Shireen Abu Akleh, a veteran Al Jazeera correspondent. Israeli forces shot her in the head while she reporting in Jenin while clearly wearing a press vest.
This is absolutely horrifyinghttps://t.co/KqadakjhnH

While Israeli officials are claiming that Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh was killed by Palestinian gunfire, journalist Ali Samudi that was next to her said to local media that the army opened fire towards them, and that there were no Palestinian gunmen near them. pic.twitter.com/6P1BRyIGB1
