New Delhi: US President Joe Biden during his remarks on Equal Pay Day at the White House Tuesday, accidentally referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as ‘first lady’, while he went on to joke about the recent gaffe.

The blunder moment occurred while Biden was stating that Veep’s husband, Doug Emhoff, has tested positive for COVID-19.

In the video of Biden’s address at the gaffe held in the White House on Tuesday, he can be seen saying, “There’s been a little change in the arrangement of who is on the stage because of the first lady’s husband contracting COVID”.

Somebody from Biden’s side immediately came up to correct the president, evoking laughter from those in attendance.

Later, it appeared that the audience mentioned the state of confusion during the event, as the US President even went to joke about it.

Gesturing towards his wife, Biden said, “That’s right. She’s fine, it’s me that’s not to get it”.

“And secondly, the first gentleman, how about that?”, he added.

“I’m Joe Biden. I’m Jill Biden’s husband and proud of it”, he further continued his remark.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden will travel to Belgium to attend an extraordinary NATO summit on March 24 along with participating in a European Council Summit, a White House statement informed on Tuesday.
